The Festivities

Thursday – All-Star Thursday – 3pm PT Today

This is mostly just goofy commencement stuff and a fun scrimmage by the PWHL: The All-Star Draft is here, where the captains (Auston Matthews, Connor McDavid, Jack Hughes, and Nathan MacKinnon) will decide their teams, and the 1967 Toronto Maple Leafs will be honored.

The PWHL 3-on-3 scrimmage meanwhile, is the fun part; that group admittedly was pre-chosen (The league didn’t exist six months ago, and as such wouldn’t have time to declare All-Stars), and will face off to begin the fesitivities!

Will Any Kraken Be There?: I presume Ollie Bjorkstrand will be involved in the Draft, so yes. There is…something approaching a reason to watch. You should just watch the PWHL scrimmage, though.

Friday – NHL Skills Competition – 4pm PT

A revamped format sees 12 All-Stars compete for a Million Dollar Prize!

The competitions are:

  • Fastest Skater
  • Hardest Shot
  • Stick Handling Challenge
  • One Timer Competition
  • Passing Challenge
  • Accuracy Challenge
  • One – on – One
  • Obstacle Course (!?!?!?)

The winner of these events will receive many dollary-doos!

Will Any Kraken Be There?: Ollie is not in the group of 12 All-Stars, so no: He will not be here.

Saturday – NHL All-Star Game – 12pm PT

Each Division faces each other in a round robin tournament.

Will Any Kraken be There?: Ollie will be on Team Pacific Division, so yes; He will be there.

As for what to expect? Drunken awkward jokes, a solid game setting, and maybe one weird thing at the Skillz Competition.

Otherwise, you guys have fun in here. I’m gonna have this on in the background while I speedrun PS1 era Armored Core games.
