Game Notes
- NOTES?! YOU WANT NOTES OF THIS!?
- Alright fine. Here’s what you need to know: This game rocked. The Firebirds and Wranglers traded blows between periods all night; Wranglers open the scoring, Firebirds get two. Klapka ties it up, Firebirds pull ahead again. The Third period as per usual in this series was a complete tire fire; seven goals between both sides were exchanged.
- Weird night for Coachella’s Penalty Kill. Did they give up four power play goals? Absolutely, and that cannot happen in Game 4. Got a shorty, though! If you really wanna be technical about it that would mean the Wranglers only got 2 out of 7!
- Also don’t tell me that the Refs didn’t go out of their way to help the Wranglers after Game 2 because 7 penalties to 4 is egregious. I don’t care if most of them could be justified. That felt like they didn’t have an avenue to leave without passing the Wranglers bench on the way.
- Man if you ask anybody about their goaltending after a game like this you’re missing the point. An .861 SV% after 7 goals-for is spectacular. Chris Driedger did perfectly fine.
- Shoutouts to Max McCormick and Marian Studenic for their pair of goals!
- They have a chance to end this on Friday. I think it behooves them to take it.
- Oh god are we gonna have to do this again I think I’m gonna need an inhaler-
As this is a Best-of-5 series, the Firebirds have set up an elimination game in the Desert for Friday Night! That game drops the puck at 7pm PT.
