While the Kraken are going to be making their cuts later than most per David Hakstol’s comments, the reality is that the prospects for the Kraken desperately need to either get reps or think about their time in the AHL, and the Kraken need to start narrowing their options down, and thus the Kraken have made their second round of Training camp cuts, which include guys like Jacob Melanson and Tucker Robertson, among others.

The Kraken previously cut their roster down drastically on Tuesday, sending a good portion of their youngest prospects to their respective junior leagues/camps, and some of them are already adjusting well. The Firebirds will however, need each and every one of these guys to live up to the lofty standard they set for themselves by nearly winning it all last season. As much as they’re trying to help these guys develop, they also need to get these guys ready for a long regular season. I imagine we’ll see some of these guys if injury strikes, however.

Still, now the pressure is on for those who remain; the vast majority of NHL regulars are going to be making their preseason debuts over the next few games, so they’re gonna need to impress more than they already have to make the October 10th roster.

We wish all those cut well on their time in Coachella, and good luck to all who’ve stuck around!
