The Need to Knows

  • The Time: 7pm PT
  • The Place: Beautiful Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle, WA
  • Place to Watch: ROOT Sports Northwest, ESPN+
  • Place to Listen: KJR 93.3-FM
  • An Opposing Viewpoint: Anaheim Calling

Seattle has lost eight in a row and are officially, mathematically out of the playoffs. They have turned their eye to the future, calling up from Coachella Valley forwards Ryan “Old Man Face” Winterton and Logan Morrison.

In addition, they have also called up defenseman Gustav Olofsson. With Vince Dunn not playing since March 4th after being injured by Martin Pospisil and Ryker Evans not finishing the game Sunday against Montreal, the Kraken are thin on the back end. Even worse, Dunn and Evans are their best puck-moving defensemen on the power play.

This team badly misses Vince Dunn. In the thirteen games they’ve played without him, they’ve won once, going 1-10-2.

If you like omens, it is Jared McCann bobblehead night — and the Kraken tend to win a lot on bobblehead night.

One programming note is Ducks forward Trevor Zegras has missed the last few months with a broken ankle but is practicing and could return either tonight or Thursday’s game (also in Seattle, against the Ducks).
