We’re nearly at the exact halfway point of the season and man…it’s a been a ride.
The Sharks — while the Kraken were having one of their agonizing episodes — have sort of cooled off, but given how close the individual teams between 2 and 4 are in the standings, they have a lot of interest in winning this game so they can kick their fellow Californian teams to the back of the line (at least until they win again), and given that at least LA is playing tonight, they’re gonna come out of this ready to go and try and finish the Squids quickly.
The Kraken meanwhile, have at long last snapped a losing streak and honestly haven’t been playing…terribly, just getting caught on the same things that frequently overrun them whenever they play. The je-ne-sais-quoi of Seattle sports chaos. Hey, at least we can say they absolutely fit now. They’ve gotta come out of this one swinging because not only is it a division game, it’s the first game of a back-to-back, with the other team coming out of it being the Blues. And that game? No matter what the score, will be rough.
And therefore, with so much on the line for the other team, wouldn’t it be great if the Kraken played spoiler? Just for one night?
