Game Notes
- Adam Larsson, who had one shot in the third period, logged the most time on ice of any Kraken tonight. He played 25:17
- One shot in the third.
- This was, unfortunately, a very typical game for the Kraken this year, and I suspect it’s going to be a trend that follows them into hell. They started strong, they had a bad second period, and then either they got it together or flamed out and guess what they flamed out bad because they had one shot in the third.
- This team’s net-front defense is absolutely busted. It’s broken. Prime Hasek couldn’t keep a clean sheet with how absolutely, systematically cheeks this team’s backcheck is right now. Stretch passes become 2-on-1’s. Cycles aren’t broken up. Transition might as well be a dream. This unit’s entire structure looks like a slapped ass when pressure comes, and I don’t know where you even start fixing that. Do you get faster? Get more a-holes who are willing to throw legal cross checks? Get smarter? Get better stick handling? Where’s the start?
- That also goes a little bit for the offense as well; passing is once again mercurial and the shooting appears to exist for approximately 20 minutes of NHL ice time. That cannot be acceptable to anybody. Least of all Dave Hakstol.
- Dave Hakstol’s insistence on giving top 6 minutes to guys like Kailer Yamamoto, who are career depth players, was just asinine. Is Winterton or Kartye better? Sometimes! Would guys like Tanev and Yamamoto probably be better served with a center like Wright? Who knows. We’ll never know, because two players had to play top 6 minutes in relief, and only one of them made their case strong enough to continue it. Hak needs to start having a frank conversation with his staff about their tactics and preparation, because it seems like they are woefully inadequate.
- One. shot. in the third.
- Andre? Jordan? Buddies? We miss you. Come back soon.
- We’re starting to get to the point we might have to start thinking about Ron Francis stepping in. It’s November. That’s never good.
- ONE SHOT IN THE THIRD PERIOD JESUS CHRIST COME ON GUYS.
- You did this in front of paying customers. Good gravy.
Was there any positives from a game like this?
- Brandon Tanev scored the lone goal after a lengthy time away from the team. He was well missed and I’m glad he managed to come back big time.
- Adam Larsson was the only player with a shot on goal in the third period of an NHL hockey game.

As if the pain couldn’t get worse, the Edmonton Oilers hot off of firing their coach and getting four points out of Leon Draisaitl will host the Kraken on Wednesday night and that puck drops at 7pm PT.
We’ll see you there. Thank you for sitting through that nonsense, and remember.
Keep Calm, and Post Zoidberg When We Win
Please god just let them win.
