With their first pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, the Seattle Kraken selected Eduard Šale from Kometa Brno in the Czech Extraliga!
Šale (Pronounced “Sha-Lay”) played 43 games with HC Kometa Brno, netting 7 goals and 7 assists in that time. As we often have to remind people; it’s pretty impressive for a kid like him to be playing against grown-ass men and doing as well as he did, and was a Silver medalist with the Czech U20 team at the World Juniors. That’s important, as Jeff Marek had the scoop that he’ll be playing marginally closer to Seattle as part of the OHL’s Barrie Colts in Canada. We’ll see how he fares against teenagers around his age!
