I have no words; only disgust.

The Highlights, if you dare

Game Notes

  • Your TOI leader was Adam Larsson, who logged 24:07.
  • The freaking Blackhawks, man. Your defense was not good enough to stop the actual 2023-24 Chicago Blackhawks.
  • While I could go on for hours about just how absolutely disgusting the defensive effort was at just about every phase of the game, the worst part about the whole thing is that they just looked slow and overly conservative. The ice seemed to be endless for Chicago and Seattle only barely tried to establish possession when they could. They got their chances off, because this is still the 2023-24 Blackhawks, but I have never seen a team drag themselves down to Chicago’s level for such a poor game. They looked completely disinterested in their opponent and they got a result that showed it. Oh they figured themselves out in the 3rd! Those infamous 3rd period Kraken didn’t show up this time! Instead, they spread it over the first 40 minutes in an absolutely embarrassing effort.
  • I’m glad Grubauer’s not hurt but he sure looked it on that Mackenzie Entwistle goal. Throw that .826 on the pile of things that went wrong tonight because sheesh.
  • Oh look the power play issues are back. 0-for-5 against the Blackhawks, especially these Blackhawks, especially with a 5-on-3, is borderline criminal.
  • Matty B had two points, and in most 2 point nights for him the Kraken, even going back to the inaugural season when he played 10 games, where markedly improved to the point that it was nearly guaranteed that’d be enough for a win. Even that wasn’t working.
  • This team is determined to kill me but I’m not going to let it.
  • That said I would like just about every defenseman on the roster traded. I wrote this after the 2nd period, thought better of it, but after thinking about it for a little bit, I’m letting this be my emotional truth. This needs wild improvement and soon.
  • I really watched a Kraken team lose to the Chicago Blackhawks that are this bad. Good god.

Was there anything positive abou-

NO.

Okay, Matty had a goal and an assist, and Alex Wennberg got a shorty. That’s pretty neat.

They still lost to the rebuilding, just had to let go of Corey Perry for shenanigans, Bedard and not much else Chicago Blackhawks. Any positives you take from that are moral victories.

GET YOUR S#!T TOGETHER, KRAKEN.

I’m actually disgusted with how competitive this game was. I am rapidly moving towards we need to start thinking about some changes away from the roster.

Well, if you thought that this was bad, the Kraken now have to take this anti-momentum and turn it into enough spite to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, a game that drops the puck on Thursday at 4pm PT.

We’ll see you then.

Keep Calm, and Post Zoidberg When We Win
