Kraken @ Canadiens RECAP: An untenable situation in 4-2 Loss.

This is not tenable.

The Highlights, if you dare

Game Notes

  • Your TOI Leader was Vince Dunn, who played 25:06 tonight.
  • I’m done being hopeful, man; this team is cooked. If you can’t get up to take on a deeply wounded Habs team that isn’t playing super well and has a load of structural issues that mirror your own, and then your own issues continue to be backbreaking to the point that you’re finishing the second period down three goals nearly every game you play for a week straight, you can’t reasonably be expected to make the playoffs. Not like this. It’s worse because it seems like the amount of quality hockey they’re able to put together seems to be dropping game-by-game-by-game from 40 down to 30. If they don’t address this soon, they’ll be playing only about 20 minutes of hockey that matter every game. This is not tenable.
  • Their passing is off. Their shooting and skating placement is off. Their shooting is off. Their play recognition is off. Their puck security is non-existent. It’s fine for them to have dropped off. That’s perfectly okay. This is a disaster. This is not tenable.
  • Another game where a critical player to their success has two points and the rest of the team cannot score enough to make it matter. This is not tenable.
  • Grubauer finished below .900 in a game he had to turn away almost 30 shots, and while I concede that this team’s ability to block shots or break up plays has evaporated…there needs to be a save here or there. This is not tenable.
  • Power Play went 1-for-2, though. That’s pretty tenable.
  • FIX. THIS. DAVID. OR WE WILL FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN.

Do I even want to know if there was anything positive about this?

Yeah, sure.

  • Vince Dunn had two points tonight.
  • Jared McCann got the ball rolling on an attempted comeback. Imagine where this team would be without him. Terrifying, right?

The NaturalStatTrick Charts

Hey kids who wants to see something untenable.

FUCKING FIX THIS, DAVID. THAT NETFRONT DEFENSE CANNOT CONTINUE.

Kraken play on Thursday at home against New Jersey. That game drops the puck at a more sensible time of 7:30 PT.

Seattle sports really just wants us to suffer these days, don’t they? First the M’s did that godawful trade, then the Hawks got assblasted by the Cowboys…and now this.

What’s next, the Sonics come back but they purposefully put together a team worse than the 2011 Bobcats/This year’s Pistons?

Anyway, Keep Calm, and Post Zoidberg When We Win.
