The Kraken are settling into the heart of the offseason with very little beyond the Vince Dunn signing to get out of the way, and decided to get their first round pick in the 2023 draft; Eduard Šalé, under contract!
It’s important to note that this is a “sliding” contract; if he plays in the OHL with the Barrie Colts (which seems to be the plan going into next season), it will not count towards the term. If he ends up popping off and playing his life out and getting to the AHL/NHL? Then the contract kicks in. That’s a bit of an off chance, however, but it’s worth mentioning.
Šalé has been ingratiating himself to the Seattle faithful by joining the Kraken’s offseason antics; such as throwing out the first ball at a Mariners game!
One can only wonder what his hitting is like. Lord knows the M’s could use it.
Mariners angst aside, we heartily welcome Eduard to the Kraken officially, and will be watching his upcoming season with interest!
