Kraken vs. Stars RECAP: A harsh reality check from a 3-0 Loss

Oh yeah. That team has like

Offensive talent.

Whoops.

…Oh well, Dac played well! I’ll take that!

There are things called Highlights, I’m sure there’s one or two with the Kraken

Game Notes

  • Your TOI leader was Ryker Evans tonight, with 21:42 logged.
  • I really don’t need to tell you much about this game you couldn’t already get from watching it or even just the highlights or even just taking a gander at the boxscore; this was a Capital D drubbing. Dallas looks like they’re ready to take on the Kings and go to war with them; they skated fast, they kept the pressure on all night, and the Kraken just did not have an answer for it. This is likely what awaited Seattle if they decided to go for it this year and uh…yeah, probably a better call to keep building if this is what Dallas was bringing.
  • Adam Larsson got tossed for chucking an elbow at Chris Tanev early in the 2nd, which contributed to Evans and Brian Dumoulin sharing 21 minutes of ice time tonight. Upon watching of the replay I initially thought it was a strangely called example of boarding, but the opposite side angle from the sideboard view clearly shows he’s coming in hot with the elbow first, that’s a lot of hard plastic and foam coming at your head all at once and frankly a careless lapse on the Big Cat’s part. I hope he ends up alright; concussions are no joke. We’ll let you know if any supplemental discipline results from this.
  • Just about every facet of the Kraken’s offense wasn’t working tonight, and it really made it clear this team’s offseason should be nearly laser focused on getting the team’s forecheck up to snuff with the rest of the conference.
  • Kraken made their way back to 8th place in the draft order thanks to the Sabres and Devils making a concerted push to somehow make the playoffs.
  • Just nine more games. Let’s try to keep these games at the very least competitive, guys. This was rough, no doubt, but it should be expected from a team getting ready to take on Los Angeles. If this is the effort they get playing San Jose I’ll be a bit more unhappy.
  • Joey Daccord had a .931 SV% in a loss where he had plenty of help from Ollie Bjorkstrand and no help from Brian Dumoulin. For a guy who’s honestly not been bad all year, Dumo had a night to forget; punctuated by falling on his goaltender a couple of times.

Was there anything good about this game?

Joey played well, Ollie helped him out, and a good draft pick awaits this squad.

Just 9 more games to go.

…Oh! And the Mariners ended up winning today! That’s a positive of Games What Were Played By Seattle Teams!

The NaturalStatTrick.com Charts

Yeah that tracks. What a spanking.

Well, if the Kraken want to get their act together, there’s no better team to have a get-right game against than the San Jose Sharks. They play them on April Fools Day, and that game plays at 7:30pm PT.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate, we thank you for listening, and as always
