Kraken re-sign Joey Daccord for 2 years, 1.2 million AAV!

The Kraken’s offseason has begun with the RFA signings as we previously mentioned, but it officially kicks off with a re-signing of netminder Joey Daccord for 2 years, with a 1.2 Million AAV cost!

Daccord only got 5 games in the goalie carousel for the Kraken this year, posting a .900 SV% in that time, but his real efforts were won while playing with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, where he posted a .918 SV% in 38 games; winning 26 of them. In the playoffs, he was one of the best goalies in the entire AHL; hitting the league with a .926 SV% and going all the way to the Calder Cup Finals, where unfortunately Coachella was unable to seal the deal, but he proved that he was more than a match for anything that the AHL could throw at him.

The goalie depth still looks like Grubauer has the start for Seattle, but Driedger and Daccord could very easily end up in a battle for the backup spot through training camp. Still a ways away from that however.

So in the meantime, well done Joey, and we hope to see you in Kraken Blue this fall!
