Kraken 2023 Training Camp Rosters & Schedules Released!

We inch ever closer to the concept of a professional hockey season being played in Seattle again, and with preseason just a couple of weeks away, the Kraken are already hard at work prepping their team for the hard decisions of who is staying in Kraken Blues and who may have to wait another year in Coachella for a chance. The Kraken released via social media and their own website the official rosters of training camp, rookie camp, and presumably some of preseason.

For the 2023 Training Camp, the roster is as follows, in “game lineup” format for ease of reading:

Forwards:

Jared McCann – Matty Beniers – Jordan Eberle

Jaden Schwartz – Alex Wennberg – Andre Burakovsky (Healthy!)

Eeli Tolvanen – Yanni Gourde – Ollie Bjorkstrand

Brandon Tanev – Pierre-Eduard Bellemare – Kailer Yamamoto

Max McCormick – Kole Lind – Devin Shore

Marian Studenic – John Hayden – Andrew Poturalski

Defensemen:

Vince Dunn – Adam Larsson

Jamie Oleksiak – Will Borgen

Brian Dumoulin – Justin Schultz

Connor Carrick – Cale Fleury

Gustav Olofsson – Jaycob Megna

Mitch Reinke – Jimmy Schuldt

Goaltenders:

Philipp Grubauer

Chris Driedger (Also healthy!)

Joey Daccord

Jaxon Castor

Lines, of course, are purely included here for ease of reading, and do not reflect the actual lines in scrimmages in the upcoming camp.

Annoyed a bit by the lack of Wright? Maybe wondering where Ty Kartye, Eduard Šalé, and Jagger Firkus are? That’s where the Rookie camp roster comes in: a two-day mini camp where the organization takes stock of the prospects and ingratiates them to the Seattle way of doing things. After that, it’s likely a good number of these players will join the Training Camp roster.

The Training Camp Roster includes, again in game lineup format:

Forwards:

Ville Petman – Shane Wright – Tye Kartye

Kyle Jackson – Ryan Winterton – Jacob Melanson

David Goyette – Maxim Andreyev – Andrei Loshko

Logan Morrison (NOT THAT ONE) – Tucker Robertson – Carson Rehkopf

Luke Henman

Defensemen:

Ryker Evans – Ty Nelson

Lukas Dragicevic – Ville Ottavainen

Kaden Hammell – Caden Price

Peetro Seppälä

Goaltenders:

Jack LaFontaine

Tyler Palmer

Ales Stezka

Tyler Palmer is an invite from the Everett Silvertips; an overager who posted a .900 SV% in 33 games last year. LaFontaine is a recent signing for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, who posted an .898 SV% in the ECHL last year (The league below the AHL) with the Orlando Solar Bears.

The Schedule itself for Training Camp does not feature a prospect tournament like a number of different teams have, but instead a number of specific themed days:

All of the Kraken’s training camp will be held at the Community Iceplex at Northgate Station in Seattle, with doors opening on most practices at 10am PST. The Scrimmages will be held just around 12:40pm PST.

With that? We’ll see who sticks around to try and fight for a spot on the roster over the weekend, and who fights the hardest to get onto the main roster for October 10th through Preseason.

Who do you think has the best chance of making it?
