Andre Burakovsky is out for over a month

The Kraken’s latest game against New York was hardly a rewarding experience for anybody; they lost, there was a lighting issue…and Seattle lost Andre Burakovsky in the process, and now we know for how long officially.

Per the team, Burky will be out for six to eight weeks after receiving surgery from an upper body injury suffered during Saturday’s contest. He received this injury from the Rangers’ Jacob Trouba checking him into the boards shoulder first, which led to a penalty for Roughing, and Burakovsky leaving the game.

This is already a blow to an offense that is already down a Brandon Tanev and has been struggling to get much of anything going; Burakovsky has been one of the few highlights in spite of his lack of goals, and it stings to see him out for any stretch of time. It’s likely that the Kraken will try previously-called up player Devin Shore and begin line-blending to see if any chemistry results from it, though other call-ups from Coachella Valley would definitely be possible.

Until we get further confirmation, we wish Andre the best in recovery and hope he comes back at 100%.
