Game Preview
The Torrent struggled to face a foe as mighty as the Fleet this week, and so they must now take on the silver medal of silver medalists, the Montreal Victoire. A team loaded down with talent that seemingly cannot help themselves but fail to get over the hump. They probably should’ve been the first team overall in the league…had Boston not intervened. AGAIN.
Naturally, they’re taking out this particular frustration out on the rest of the PWHL. Fun for everyone.
While I could bring up that they are incredibly deep team that can score from just about anywhere in the lineup, special attention needs to be paid to captain clutch herself; Marie-Philip Poulin. She’s already on a tear with a team leading 4 points in 5 games, and when she’s out there, you notice immediately. The Torrent need to be ready for that more than anything, because the Victoire have taken to this season like a mission, and they only use losses as further fuel for that fire.
They must weather the storm, then take control of the game.
