Gooooooood morning Seattle!
Apparently the east coast is under a foot of snow, but the New York Rangers are still a hot team with a lot of momentum. Third in the Metro, got Artemi Panarin playing out of his mind, the hot young talent in Adam Fox who absolutely should’ve gone to the Olympics and I will never not be annoyed by the idea that he didn’t go, and Igor Sheshterkin. Oh man, that Sheshterkin can play.
But look into their underlying numbers, and you realize quickly that solving Sheshterkin is almost 75% of the battle; they don’t make many shot attempts at all, 19th in the league in shots per game, and they really don’t make that many quality ones. They’re a team just barely holding on in the skin of a successful one…and they’ve given up a couple of real clunkers to the Jackets and Wild. Let’s make it three this morning, shall we?
