Seattle Kraken select Tucker Robertson with pick no. 123

As the fourth round chugs along, the Kraken have picked up a 5’10”, right-shot center at pick number 123. Tucker Robertson plays for the Peterborough Petes of the OHL, and is a Toronto native like so many Canadian players before him.

Once a team starts reaching to picks this low in the draft, it’s harder to guarantee that they’ll break out and become a bona fide NHL player, but do expect that when Robertson’s time with the Petes is up that he’ll find his way over to Coachella Valley.

However, I would love it if he were able to break out into the league, because take a look at the stat here at the very bottom of NHL Network’s graphic on him.

I will repeat that: he lead the OHL with eight shorthanded goals this past season. A 5’10” player who knows how to score shorties? I’m getting Colin Blackwell vibes off of this, and I think I speak for everyone when I say I miss Colin Blackwell. If the Kraken can get themselves a homegrown version, that would be nice.
