We are just 23 days away from the start of training camp, but — good news — if you want your fix of Kraken players you don’t even have to wait that long!*
Rookie camp opens on September 11th before heading up north (and slightly east) to Abbotsford, B.C. on the 12th and 13th for the rookie prospect showcase with the Vancouver Canucks.
Then the Kraken take the ice on September 17th to figure out who is going to make the team. There should be some very interesting bottom six battles that should signal the direction this team wants to go this season.
The Kraken only play 4 preseason games this year. They play the Canucks at home on September 19th, the Flames in Calgary on the 20th, back at home and back against the Flames on September 24th, and close it out in Vancouver on September 26th.
The 84-game season (that’s 2.4% more Kraken hockey, baby!) starts on October 1st.
Are you excited? Because I am absolutely aching from my soul to get back to Kraken hockey. This offseason has felt like 7843932 years long.
*The em dash and I have been besties for a long time. I’m not going to refrain from using beloved punctuation just because people might think I’m a robot. Bring it on robots. You can pry my em dash from my cold, dead — not to mention lifeless — hands.
