January 8, 2023, the WHL Everett Silvertips traded two of their stars to the Kamloops Blazers. A Chevy Blazer couldn’t hold everything Everett got in return: 10, count ‘em, 10 draft choices, plus four Kamloops players. One of those was Kaden Hammell, who’s been glad to be on the happy side of ‘Tips supporters.
“They bring it every night,” Hammell said of fans at Everett’s Angel of the Winds Arena. “I always like to say, ‘The best fan base in the Western League,’ and I stand by that.”
Hammell first experienced Silvertips crowds as a member of the Blazers. “The cowbells are crazy loud, so coming in as a visiting player with Kamloops, those cowbells can get in your head a little bit.”
