Junior players all over North America must be green with envy over Jagger Firkus’ singular ability; We speak of course of an uber-catchy nickname that moves merchandise.

Sure, 61 goals in 63 games helps Firkus’ brand. Leading Moose Jaw to its first-ever visit to the Memorial Cup can make a guy a local legend. But it’s the “Firkus Circus” moniker, coined in 2022, that sets Jagger apart. A lacrosse-style goal that season helped cement the nickname.

“It’s cool,” Firkus told TSN.ca at the time. “It comes with my creativity. Not a lot people know what’s going to happen when the puck’s on my stick and that’s where it comes from.” Jagger even modeled a namesake T-shirt!
