The Seattle Kraken are being more forgiving of Eduard Sale’s first year in North America than Sale is. With good reason.
The Kraken 2023 1st round draft choice, #20 overall, didn’t post the same eye-popping numbers of other Seattle prospects. But those others didn’t face the obstacles Sale did. The 19-year-old spent his first season away from family and friends in his native Czechia. Lack of fluency in English – which has improved – left him feeling even more isolated. At midseason, he was traded from the Barrie Colts to the Kitchener Rangers.
