Hope David Goyette cleared some space in his trophy case. His 117 points earned the Eddie Power Memorial Trophy as OHL scoring champion and Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy as the league’s top right wing.
Sudbury coach Ken MacKenzie cited Goyette’s “great speed, great vision,” and never putting his team in jeopardy. For other categories in which the team captain impressed, let the Sudbury Star count the ways:
“Goyette never went pointless in back-to-back games all season. He recorded three points or more on 18 occasions and was a top contributor to Sudbury’s finish as the top-scoring team in the OHL with 328 goals. His 117 points were the highest for the franchise since Norm Milley in 1998-99.”
At Kraken development camp, Goyette spoke about many of his fellow campers. It’s today’s Kraken Reaction.
