Nothing ‘Common’ About These Seattle Kraken ‘Threads’

When the Seattle Kraken return to action Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena, the evening’s activities will once again include more than their game against the Florida Panthers.

It’s also the fourth of nine theme nights during the 2024-25 season under the umbrella of “Kraken Common Thread.” As spelled out on the team website, “Common Thread is the embodiment of our commitment to inclusivity and unity within the Kraken community. The Seattle Kraken recognize that we are not bound by our uniformity but by the richness of our diversity.”

Earlier Kraken game nights recognized Hispanic Heritage, Military Appreciation, and Hockey Fights Cancer.

The Dec. 10 game against the defending Stanley Cup champions is designated as Indigenous Peoples Night. Artist Keith Stevenson, a member of the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, created the logos at left which will be prominently displayed on the ice and elsewhere around the arena.

Still-to-come “Kraken Common Thread” game nights at CPA:

  • Pride Night, Jan. 6 vs. New Jersey
  • Lunar New Year Night, Jan. 28 vs. Anaheim
  • Black Hockey History Night, Feb. 4 vs. Detroit
  • Women In Hockey Night, Mar. 14 vs. Utah
  • Green Night, Apr. 12 vs. St. Louis

Each of the “Common Thread” theme nights encompasses much more than logo design. We got the scoop from Kraken fan development specialist Samantha Jabara, along with Women In Hockey Night featured artist Marisol Ortega in our latest Kraken Reaction.
