Kraken Bobblehead Not Dunn Until It’s Done

Nicole Shabaz, who works in “entertainment experience and promotions” for the Seattle Kraken, loves to talk about her kids.

Nothing unusual about that, except in this case the “kids” are bobbleheads given away to fans before selected Kraken home games.

As Shabaz explained to Seattle Met, “They are all my children. If someone’s going to have this on their shelf for the rest of their lives, I want to at least make it look good.”

Vince Dunn revision #17. @SeattleKraken X

The Vince Dunn bobblehead (at right) is a prime example of Shabaz’s attention to detail. The Kraken defenseman, in doll form, went through 17 revisions.

The lips changed, the chin changed, the skin tone changed, the five o’clock shadow changed. Not only did Dunn’s hair evolve, in the first clay rendering, you couldn’t see his hair – Vince’s bobblehead was wearing a helmet.

According to the Met story, players see their bobblehead rendering before it goes into full production. None have had any complaints. “They’re like, ‘Cool. Love that'” says the woman nicknamed “Shabz.”
