Seattle Kraken defenseman Brandon Montour was recognized by the NHL for leading a successful 2-0-1 homestand.
Montour was named “Third Star of the Week.” As noted in a league press release, “Montour totaled 3-3-6 across three appearances to lift the Kraken to five out of a possible six standings points. He tallied the winning goal four seconds into overtime (tied for the fastest goal from the start of any period in NHL history), in a 5-4 triumph versus the Montreal Canadiens March 12.
“Montour then scored once in a 4-2 victory against the Utah Hockey Club March 14 before collecting one assist in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets March 16. The 30-year-old Montour shares fourth place among NHL defensemen with 16 goals through 67 total contests this season, matching a career high.” The 16 goals also represents a Kraken team record for blueliners.

The 2-0-1 homestand didn’t do much to affect the Kraken’s near-nonexistent playoff chances. There’s simply too little track left in the season, and too many teams between Seattle and the Western Conference second wild card spot. Vancouver currently holds that spot with 73 points, 10 better than Seattle.
As to the other end of the standings, the positioning for the NHL Draft Lottery looks like this:
