They never do anything easy…but that makes the wins still so much better.
But First, the Highlights!
Game Notes
- Your TOI leader in this one was Brandon Montour, who logged 25:19
- The Kraken straight up outworked the Knights in this one. They still had their struggles, and we’ll get to that, but Seattle absolutely crushed the Knights in shots, in won faceoffs, in blocked shots, you name it? They probably beat the Knights there. This was a win that the Squids can be very, very proud of.
- Of course, part of why this game felt like it was such a dramatic turn was, if you can believe it, penalty trouble! Vegas was able to establish an early lead off of a preposterous sequence that had two Kraken get the same penalty at the same time. Gonna need that to stop for next time, guys.
- Both goalies who played tonight finished with an .875 SV%, but I think I can say with certainty that Joey Daccord was the superior netminder. He was razor sharp on an onslaught of Vegas attempts, and while yes technically we’re grading this based entirely on a win, I can say with certainty he was playing and tracking the puck in a way that didn’t make me think there was a scoring chance coming after the save quite like Adin Hill was.
- I really don’t have too many notes. Nore than anything else they did, most of which was good,…they made Vegas look as mortal as any team, and that put me in such a good mood. What a win.
Lets give a hand to…
- Brandon Tanev, who was instrumental to this win with 2 goals and the lead in team shots on goal with six! HUUUUUUGE game for Turbo.
- Ollie Bjorkstrand, who briefly got the Kraken ahead on a beauty of a goal coming off of a rebound!
- Jared McCann, the hero of this game in OT. Thank God they made the improvements to CPA that they did, because once he scored that roof was in danger of coming off.
- The Kraken themselves, for finally beating that f#%king team in Vegas at home. Revenge may need to be decided from a lifetime of wins, but this will be a wonderful first step.

Could not be happier with this effort. Just a certified whuppin’.
The Kraken get a few days off for rest, recuperation, and of course the Super Skills Showcase today, and will reconvene to play the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday evening. That game drops the puck at 7pm PST.
We’ll see you there, and as always…
