Kraken tease possible new 3rd Jersey in cinematic trailer

Speculation flies as the Kraken get Vince Dunn and Brandon Montour searching for buried treasure in Elliott Bay

With hockey season a mere couple of months and change away, the Kraken appear to be gearing up for another stab at an alternate sweater…or something like it.

The Kraken dropped this cinematic trailer featuring Brandon Montour and Vince Dunn as some form of special consultants with the US Coast Guard…something they’d have to be in this scenario, as both are Canadian citizens.

It features the pair, as well as this very nice Coast Guard vessel doing the extremely important job of patrolling our waters and keeping the very busy water ways of the Puget Sound safe from Godzilla happening to find something suspicious on radar, and they go pull what is found to be a trunk out of the bay, open it…and of course, cut to black.

The acting is…maybe a little rough around the edges, but I definitely appreciate their efforts!

The Morse Code at the end, as far as I can guarantee, translates to “September 4th”, which suggests that they will be revealing what Dunner and Monty found at the bottom of Elliott Bay on that date. All signs definitely suggest it will be a 3rd sweater, as there’s been some rumor that they would get one.

If there’s anything we can hope for, it’s that it’s not necessarily embarrassing looking…and that the Kraken actually end up winning while wearing it; Kraken 3rd sweaters outside of the Winter Classic Jersey already have a bit of a bad reputation among the fanbase for being unlucky; particularly the old Ironmen Reverse Retro sweater. With any luck, this new one will avoid bringing the baggage that previous examples brought with it.

There’s a lot of people who seem to want black, but I personally would love for the team to keep plumbing the PNW waters for more historical designs. What would you want the new 3rd sweater for the Kraken to look like?
