Know Your Enemy
- The Stars have played two games this season, and won both of them fairly handily.
- Mason Marchment has 4 points in Dallas’ two games, which is good for a team lead. That’s split evenly between two goals and two assists.
- Jake Oettinger’s been absolutely unreal for Dallas; having been in net for both Stars victories and coming out of them with a .957 SV%

ALRIGHT!
No more has-beens and maybe teams for right now: the time for a real test has come!
What a shame it came so close to playing the Wild.
This will be the first of many back to backs the Kraken suffer from this year, and this one will be one of the more brutal, at least at this early point in the season. Dallas is a Central Division and usually Western Conference Finals contender and frankly I see no reason why that would’ve changed aside from the sudden emergence of Utah; they skate hard, they skate fast, and they score a lot. All backed by a goalie who should probably get more Vezina attention. They didn’t even struggle to beat the Islanders yesterday, dropping 3 on their heads and calling it a day.
This is a test of tests. The Kraken can afford some screwups; there’s no reason why they still can’t have a little rust, but now is the time to really apply oneself. Seattle will face this roadblock of a team two more times after this, and getting off on the right foot has been tricky historically with Dallas. They need to break Oettinger’s concentration, keep the net-front clear, and try to weather the storm in front of them.
Should make for a sloppy, if entertaining game!
