Kraken sign Penticton Vees Forward Ryden Evers to ELC

The Kraken have begun their last week before the Trade Deadline by doing a little business…with a junior team…and signing one of the most confusing names to add to this particular depth chart.

The Kraken announced today that they would be signing Pentiction Vees’ forward Ryden Evers to an Entry Level Contract worth $1.075 million over the course of three years.

The Burnaby product has been playing primarily in the now fully independent BCHL; which dropped any affiliation with Hockey Canada in 2023. He played for the Surrey Eagles and the Vees primarily, and stuck with the Vees through their transition from the BCHL to the WHL. Currently, Evers has 69 points in 60 games with Penticton, though at 20 he’s about a year or two older than the average player; something that Penticton is counting on as the oldest team in the WHL this year.

Evers will likely be joining the Coachella Valley Firebirds, who have been alright! They’ll make the playoffs!…but they desperately need a third player who can do something; Logan Morrison and Jagger Firkus are really the only show in town at Acrisure Arena this year.

Also, his name is almost entirely like Ryker Evans! Man that’s gonna be confusing! Especially if he joins the team for any reason!

Either way, let’s all welcome Ryker Raiden Ryden to The Deep!
