Why couldn’t Ryan Warsofsky have gone to Endicott so I could be all the way mad about this
Here is what qualifies as highlights
Game Notes
- Your TOI Leader was meaningless because anyone who was on the ice tonight bears responsibility for this result.
- There were two parts of this game. The part where the offense was actually quite together taking on the Sharks. San Jose’s defensive prowess is uh…not ideal. Its clear they still have a lot of work to do and a better team would happily mulch them.
- The other…was Philipp Grubauer. After this performance, I’m done being nice; Philipp Grubauer can’t play unless you’re absolutely certain the team across the way from him is going through some form of existential crisis. And even then. We’ve beaten the point to death that the Kraken just don’t respond to playing in front of him well at all. They do not support him with goals, and when they do, he cannot keep up his end of the bargain. I do not know what the longer term answer to this is: a buyout of his remaining contract is doable if the Kraken sell at the deadline, but there’s understandable concern of who fills in his absence. At this point, my only answer is Grubauer’s statline against the San Jose Sharks of 2024-25; which is 19 saves on 26 shots. Good for a .731 SV%. I promise you they can’t do much worse.
- Can’t wait to do this all again tomorrow! Let’s see how they respond tomorrow.
Was there anything good about this game?
Yes, and that’s why it was so frustrating.
- Shane Wright had two goals; both on the power play!
- Chandler Stephenson finished the night with three points; a goal and two assists!
- Ollie Bjorkstrand had a goal and an assist!
- Yanni Gourde got a goal off from a complete chaos shift that felt like the Sharks were somehow not going to get their act together.
- The Power Play was 2-for-6! Given how bad that’s been lately that’s considerable progress!
- Somehow, the Penalty Kill also was spotless! Given how this game was going that was A Pleasant Surprise!

Dude you let the Sharks do this to you. You need a serious wake-up call.
Well, if you liked this game, the Kraken get a chance to do this all over again tomorrow against San Jose, this time in Seattle.
We can only hope they learn something from this effort.
Thanks for reading.
