I mean, after last night I think we all expected that would happen, didn’t we?

But First, The Highlights!

Game Notes

  • Your TOI leader was Adam Larsson, who logged 25:23
  • The Kraken got two things down tonight; they managed to pick their spots beautifully by breaking through the Kings defense…and they also got some help from Phoenix Copley putting up a performance best left buried in the Mojave somewhere. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve seen the Kraken play a goalie who’s performance was that rough. Either way, it gave them a comfortable position on which to trust their goalie and wait, and sure enough, the Kings couldn’t find a way to score enough to tie in time; giving them a sweep through their California road trip!
  • It also gives the Kraken their first ever complete win of a back-to-back after over eighteen attempts at it. That’s gotta feel amazing.
  • Another game where the Penalty Kill was feeling itself and survived 3 LA cracks at the power play! Is it a dead fish bump? Maybe! But it has come at the perfect time.
  • Berkly Catton at long last returned to the lineup, and he did fine! Still pretty rusty from injury, which is to be expected, but the jump his line received was noticeable. Hopefully prolonged time with the team will get him back up to speed!
  • Another solid performance by Joey Daccord, who stopped 35 shots in a .946 SV% appearance.

Let’s give a hand to…

  • Jordan Eberle, who got his 200th point as a Kraken tonight and given such a chance with all the time in the world to dissect Phoenix Copley live on television. Exceptional work from the captain!
  • Frederick Gaudreau, who got one of the two softies that Copley let in. If not, then Gaudreau has been wasting the most impressive trick shot anyone has ever seen.
  • Eeli Tolvanen came away from this one with 2 points on Gaudreau and Meyers’ goals!
  • Ben Meyers got his 2nd goal of the year by catching Phoenix Copley thinking he was gonna pass and not shoot. A little five hole magic for him!
  • Joey Daccord held the fort even if the Kings managed to get a couple of solid goals for once, and for that we thank him!

The Kraken are off for the Holiday, and get back into it against the Philadelphia Flyers, who come to town and drop the puck at 5pm!

We’ll see you then, and as always…

Have a Happy Holidays, and Post Zoidberg When We Win!
