Game Notes

  • Your TOI leader was Adam Larsson, who logged 22:12
  • It was a classic game for the Kraken in all the worst ways. They start the game well, they lose pace down the stretch, the bottom falls out in the third period even if they make a good effort at trying to score more than once. It was everything you dislike about this team in one package. Mercifully, it will be over soon.
  • Shane Wright was finally back in the lineup, and fittingly he was one of the better players on the ice tonight in Deep Blue. I hope he brings that energy tomorrow; it was refreshing to see.
  • PK was good, the power play however didn’t quite get the same level of practice, which is…quite foolish, frankly. Seems the refs are gearing up for the playoffs through inaction.
  • Nikke Kokko’s .846 on 26 shots can be told one of two ways: He was under fire and made a bunch of really solid saves down in front of the net…but also in the ways he struggles; namely in judging shots from the high slot. Admittedly, one of them was tipped so he’d have to be really on the ball with that, but it’s clearly still an issue with his game that needs to be ironed out. I can think of no better place to do it than in Coachella once the playoffs begin.

Was there anything good about this game?

  • Shane Wright Scored!
  • The Kraken didn’t mess up their draft odds tremendously! They have about a 15% chance at a top two pick, and are nearly guaranteed a spot in the top 10.
