Kraken RECAP: Listless effort ends in 3-1 LOSS for Seattle

An effort to be desired turns into a 3-1 Loss at the hands of the Nashville Predators.

If you were going to put that little effort into attacking the Nashville Predators, maybe you could’ve let us know ahead of time?

But First, the Highlights.

Game Notes

  • Your TOI leader tonight was Vince Dunn, who played 23:25 tonight.
  • I would never go out of my way to say that professional athletes of a contact sport would ever play scared. If they were really scared they wouldn’t have shown up. So instead I’ll say that the Kraken were fighting the puck just about every single time they had it. The Preds are not necessarily known for their speed, so imagine how annoying and frankly infuriating it is that the Kraken could only barely create separation from their foes at just about every point beyond a few Bobby McMann shifts and of course, Freddie Gaudreau’s tally. This was an effort to truly forget, and thanks to this loss they are now out of the playoffs for the time being. An absolutely winnable or at the very least point-gettable night that a half-speed effort squandered.
  • They gotta pry Ryan Ufko off of the Predators man because he’s only got two NHL goals in his career and both of them are from the Kraken. WHATEVER THEY WANT, GIVE IT TO THEM! THEY CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!
  • The difference maker was on the power play, and the Kraken’s PK became a major problem for them once again as they gave up a goal to Ryan O’Reilly.
  • The Kraken could probably make another case of getting goalied by the Preds, but a .923 SV% is not something you should be wasting from Joey Daccord.
  • This had better be an ugly first step, because the next five games are all against teams that are either looking for position in the playoffs or to solidify their position in the playoffs, and many of whom are considered very good. This loss was not costly yet…but if it starts to add up, then it very easily could be.
  • On to Columbus.

  • Freddie Gaudreau got back on the scoresheet with a real nifty tip in!
  • We no longer have to play the Nashville Predators!
