A solid win!

Now, HIT THE MUSIC!

But first, the Highlights!

Game Notes

  • Your TOI Leader was Chandler Stephenson, who logged 22:23 tonight!
  • The Kings have a blueprint to being beaten right now, and the Kraken played it magnificently. Once LA got on the board, things settled down, and the Kraken began hitting the Kings where it hurts; going after net-front chances off of nearly every turnover they got, sneaking players into the middle of the ice, and criticially taking advantage of at least one of their many penalties. The Kings still got their shots, and once again the Penalty Kill will need to be a point of emphasis going forward, but still! A good win!
  • The Kraken do their best when multiple players pull their weight and tonight was no exception: six players had a point, and three players had 2. This is the blueprint.
  • The special teams once again had it’s fits and starts. The Power Play went 2-for-6, and the Penalty Kill went 2-for-4. Which, honestly? I’ll take it! Still, you probably want at least another one of those power plays; LA was struggling hard when down a man.
  • Joey Daccord had a lovely game of 25 shots, finishing his night with a SV% of .926. Given that he gave up only two goals and they were both on the power play, I can’t be that mad.

Let’s Give A Hand To…

  • Shane Wright! He had two goals tonight; one starting things off for the Kraken off a VERY slick Ryan Winterton pass, the other on the power play off, what else? A really slick Freddy Gaudreau feed! Seems like what you need to do to get him showing a little momentum is to just feed him some pretty passes!
  • Adam Larsson! The Big Cat snuck in through the middle of the ice to get a cannonblast past the Kings netminder!
  • Chandler Stephenson! So hey uh I’m just gonna keep my mouth shut I guess because he had two points and played the most out of any players on the team, which is crazy because the Kraken usually let the defensemen take that kind of work. That’s pretty wild.
  • Vince Dunn! He got a power play goal off of one of Stephenson’s passes going to Jared McCann, who sprung him for a helluva backhander!
  • In General, the passing tonight was pretty solid! The Kraken had the Kings’ in hell with how they got their scoring chances. They found some pretty open ice for all of their scoring chances and caught them deeply unawares.
