Game Preview

The Kraken are, against all odds (and against their performance last time) 3-0 in preseason, and it really seems like these guys are all in for one another, which is nice! They’ve definitely had to do some hardcore course correction and I definitely don’t think that’s something you want to make a habit of, but they’re getting good play out of Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer and guys like Jared McCann and Bobby McMann appear to be raring to go. If nothing else, it seems like the vibes for this squad are actually really good!

Meanwhile, the Canucks have been experiencing the exact opposite; having only tonight to prove they are not the kind of violent swamp ass that their last three games have suggested they might be; having lost to Seattle, their hated foes in Calgary, and the Oilers. Only in the Edmonton game did they have at any moment where they controlled the game, and that was because they were desperately trying to tie it, which they failed to do.

Whatever you heard about the Canucks this year, I really need you to understand it might be even worse than that.

Still, the Kraken can’t sleepwalk their way through this one. They already tried that against Calgary, and while they did wake up eventually, they absolutely nearly beefed that game against what should be inferior competition in the regular season. There’s no excuse for this team; by all accounts, even if they have an off night, they should mollywhop Vancouver. The play of the Canucks has been that bad.

Still, one last game before the roster freeze on Monday, which will facilitate even more cuts! Let’s see who makes their case the best!

LET’S GO KRAKEN!
