Kraken @ Knights RECAP: Another ugly night as losing streak hits 4 in a row

The Vegas Golden Knights dispatched Seattle with worrying ease.

[pitious sigh]

Here is what constitutes highlights

Game Notes

  • Your TOI Leader was Brandon Montour, who finished with 24:04 logged.
  • The last couple of games were frustrating. This? This was just ugly from stem to stern. The passing was completely off, the turnovers were gross, the offense could only very occasionally string together a half decent setup, the defense once again was doing that really aggravating thing where they do about half of the work for a zone clear and then just never get it…the Knights saw a team struggling and took ample advantage.
  • Honestly, it felt like the distance between these two teams is more stark now than ever before. There were some shifts where it genuinely felt like Seattle was playing in slow motion out there; it was immensely disheartening.
  • The really screwed up part is that they actually capitalized on the power play; getting their 2 goals from the man advantage, and it wasn’t even close enough of an equalizer for Seattle.
  • Do I need to say anything about Grubauer’s performance or is it clear he both did not meet the challenge ahead of him and he did not receive a lot of help? I don’t think I have to reiterate my stance on this player any more; so long as he plays, the Kraken will have the second best goaltender in the game. At bare minimum.
  • At least they get a chance to turn it around tonight.

Was there anything good about this game?

  • Jaden Schwartz and Vince Dunn scored on the power play! Given how rough that’s been lately, it’s notable for being a strong performance!
  • Chandler Stephenson got two assists. That’s pretty neat.

aaaand that’s about it for the dim flickers of hope.

I just don’t know anymore, man.

The Kraken do not get rest, as they head off to Denver to play the Avalanche tonight. That game is at 5pm tonight.

See you then.
