Seattle is riding high, sports-wise. Hawks are in the Big Game again, Kraken just got another solid win over a team in the Metro everyone swore up and down were going to be good, maybe the Torrent are having a less than ideal first season but hey we’re all on the way up somewhere! So let’s keep the good vibes going against another Metro team everyone swore up and down were going to be good!
Life for the Caps has been rough lately. While enormously talented, they’ve been dropping game after game while gearing up for and then setting out on a western conference road trip, of which they have beaten Calgary exactly in a 6 game trip that is now on it’s 5th game. As a result, they’ve slipped almost completely out of the playoff race, though they’re a couple games of winning away from getting right back in it, as is tradition in the NHL of 2025-26.
The Kraken should take caution however, while they’ve been losing the scoring race lately they are still quite a dangerous team offensively, and so keeping a careful eye on Alex Ovechkin and in an interesting twist; the Caps blueline. John Carlson has 7 points through his last 5 games, and Jakob Chychrun has three goals. The scoring can come from anywhere on that squad, so keeping their shots low-danger and attacking the middle of the ice will be paramount to getting 2 points off of this slumping team of stars.
