Game Preview
The Preds and the Kraken have met twice this year, and it seems that the magic number between them is 4.
The first time they met, the Preds rung in the new year by letting Matty Beniers go off with a 2 goal night, and give up two first Period goals within ten seconds of each other. The next, as I’m sure you may dimly remember, the Kraken couldn’t solve Juuse Saros more than twice on a 43 save performance as they slowly watched their lead evaporate in the 2nd period until it finally got out of reach thanks to a Steven Stamkos empty netter.
So. What awaits us tonight? 4 goals for Seattle, hopefully.
The Preds are still who they were back on the 10th, they just happen to have played a bunch of other Pacific Division teams in the meantime and given them valuable points (the fiends! The rules! The scoundrels!), and then played a shootout winner over the Winnipeg Jets. They still are very much a team that’s about average in puck control thats bolstered by some all timer goaltending alongside a solid defense and a bunch of youngsters bringing some old goalscoring favorites from the 2000s and 2010s with them. They’re a tougher nut than you think to crack, but Seattle does know how to do it.
They just gotta do it twice.
