Game Preview

This has been one hell of a road trip. Not all of it great, but the Kraken have shown quite a bit of fight.

If only they had more wins to show for it. Oh well.

The final stop on this eastern road trip brings us nowhere near the Atlantic ocean, but rather to the shores of Salt Lake to face a Mammoth team that has at long last realized the potential of their previous environment, for the most part. They’ve currently got a two game winning streak against the Leafs and the Stars, and has gotten some excellent work out of Nick Schmaltz and Dylan Guenther recently, and are currently holding one of the wildcard spots in the West down pat.

Last time the Kraken faced them, they played a much closer game than the final score suggested, but failed to overcome a slow start, their once a game PK failure, and two failed empty netter chances. Much like last time, the Kraken can still make Utah sweat if they attack specifically the net-front, as they struggle with net-front chances and consistently with Vejmelka making aggressive moves to stop left-to-right shots. If they can keep the pressure on their goalies to go be heroes, then there’s a win in here.

Oh, and don’t get in a position to have an empty net. That isn’t gonna go well.

LET’S GO KRAKEN, LET’S GO SQUIDS!
