Meanwhile, St. Louis’ victory over Seattle last Thursday has heralded some up and down play for the Blues; they got beat by New Jersey then turned around and absolutely crushed Minnesota 5-1. One imagines with the Trade Deadline looming that a good many of the Blues either see an opportunity to earn their keep enough to stay in the NHL, or find a way to finally get out of St. Louis. These players, Rob Thomas chief among them, are going to be putting their very best foot forward to get scouts noticing, so we can at least expect an effort as strong as the one on Thursday.
Critically the thing Seattle must prepare for is a transition game that thrives off of east-west shots and net-front scrambles to get their goals. If they can deny St. Louis those shots, they should be able to extract a little vengeance.
