BUT! We still have some points to pull off Pacific Division rivals, so let’s check in on how the Ducks are doing!
After 2 games of getting their heads punched in, Anaheim got their act together in time to beat the Knights on Sunday evening, and that’s put them even with the Kraken in points, with only goal differential keeping them apart right now. The Ducks otherwise have regained their winning form, which has them 8-2-0 in their last 10; one of which was a game against Seattle.
Much of what we discussed in our last meeting still applies to the Ducks now; they do not defend around their net well much at all, they love moving the puck laterally in the offensive zone, and they have a lot of really good shooters. It’s up to the Kraken to gum up the defensive zone as much as possible, and get them frustrated. That will likely mean some physicality; the Punk-ass Ducks of yore are still very much in there, but if the Kraken can meet that intelligently, there’s a win in here somewhere, and a vital two points to take from Anaheim.
