Game Preview
The Kraken finally got their act together in a convincing win against the New York Islanders on Wednesday, and while that still ends up being a .500 record, they’re managing to even out and potentially get themselves back to the position of making something of their awkward position in the Pacific Division.
On the other side of the ice? A team in the exact same position.
The Ducks have been on quite a journey since we handed them their last 3-1 loss, an interesting quirk of the season series to this point; they’ve gone from being a major leader in the division to crashing out entirely with a disastrous beginning to the new year, and have only recently righted the ship enough to be hanging onto 3rd in the division by a thread, with Seattle, LA, and San Jose gunning for them. One of their biggest achilles heels of defense finally came home to roost, and while their goaltenders can be formidable, they can’t be invincible every night, and it’s put them in the position they’re in now; able to score, but still hemorrhaging chances and hoping that Dostal/Husso can make up the difference.
The Kraken need to use that open ice that Anaheim has provided as a stage to try and solve the Ducks’ goalies. If they can do that by attacking their net-front or the middle of the ice? They can get an all-important two points.
LETS GO KRAKEN, LETS GO SQUIDS
