Note: This is the second of four videos with Seattle Kraken TV voice John Forslund.
Just days before the Seattle Kraken fired coach Dave Hakstol last April, I wrote about the glowing praise he’d been showered with a year earlier. The 46 victories, playoff upset of Colorado, Jack Adams nomination, contract extension. Remember?
- “His achievements were remarkable, and his leadership skills and work ethic are admirable.” (Samantha Holloway, owner)
- “He spends a lot of time in the room communicating and talking to players. He knows more about them than I think they know.” (Dave Lowry, assistant coach)
- “I was really impressed with the job Hakstol and his staff did. They were relentless.” (Pete DeBoer, Dallas Stars coach)
- “Hakstol and his staff have done a great job of creating a close-knit, team-first mindset. They were a gutsy, gritty group, and that’s a reflection on him and how he prepares and wants his teams to play.” (Ron Francis, GM)
Let this serve as a reminder that if/when new Seattle coach Dan Byslma takes the Kraken to greater heights, he will have built upon the three-season foundation Hakstol laid.
Don’t take my word for it. Listen to Kraken TV play-by man John Forslund, in this Kraken Reaction.
