With the Kraken down to a single preseason game left, the Kraken have begun sloughing talent from their preseason roster with haste, sending the following players to Coachella Valley to begin training camp with the Firebirds, per their public relations account:
- Luke Henman
- Ville Petman
- Peetro Seppala
- Ales Stezka
They have also put almost a dozen guys on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Coachella Valley:
- Connor Carrick
- Cameron Hughes
- Kole Lind
- Max McCormick
- Gustav Olofsson
- Andrew Poturalski
- Mitch Reinke
- Jimmy Schuldt
- Devin Shore
- Marian Studenic
Notably, this leaves guys like Tye Kartye, Shane Wright, and Ryker Evans as hopefuls for the upcoming season, as well as having the Daccord/Driedger decision still very much up in the air. I know where I lean on it, personally. But I also know that the Kraken have been extremely careful with this kind of thing; especially given how the first couple of seasons in net for Seattle have been a bit of an adventure.
Still, we wish all of the players who’re making their way to Coachella Valley well on the Firebirds this season, and good luck indeed to those who remain for the Kraken!
This upcoming Oilers game will be very interesting indeed.
