Kaden Hammell signs ELC with Seattle

The Kraken have locked down another one of their defense prospects for the next few years!

Everett’s bruising defender has decided to take the next step in his career, and that involves putting pen to paper.

The Kraken announced yesterday that they signed 2023 5th rounder Kaden Hammell of the Everett Silvertips to a 3 year Entry Level Contract worth $908,300 dollars AAV.

Since being drafted by the Kraken, Hammell has made a name for himself as part of the leadership group in Everett; finally getting the captaincy this year, and finishing his season with 38 points in 59 games; just one point behind fellow Seattle prospect Julius Miettinen. He was also a major part of the Silvertips’ push for the WHL championship this year; being exactly a point per game in 13 games. Definitely a valiant effort on his part; especially against Kraken prospect Tyson Jugnauth, who also signed his ELC this offseason.

Hammell will likely be reporting for the Coachella Valley Firebirds when the season begins, but a good camp can change a lot about a young player; especially for a defense corps that’s starting to look old enough to be his father. He’ll have plenty of competition however; Ville Ottavainen, Lukas Dragicevic, and Jugnauth will all be gunning for the same position.

I’m sure he’s more than up for the challenge.

Let’s all welcome Kaden Hammell (and Tyson Jugnauth) formally to Deep Blue!
