The Captain won’t be leaving yet.

Hours before the NHL trade deadline, pending unrestricted free agent Jordan Eberle signed a two-year extension at $5.5 million. The 35-year-old winger has 22 goals and 20 assists in 59 games and he even had a hat trick two goal, one assist game last weekend.

“(My family and I) love the city of Seattle, the ownership group, everything, the commitment they have to winning,” he said. “Since day one my time here has been great. The fans even in a tough first season were great. They’ve been continuously great. Obviously the fond memories we had playing in the playoffs and the energy in the building I think that’s something that I look forward to this year.”

Eberle has a full no-trade clause, and now he has job security for a couple more years as one of the faces of the Seattle Kraken as this team heads down the stretch for the playoff push.
