Well, if you’re down in Coachella for the weekend, you may be in for an interesting treat if you decide to get a ticket to watch the Firebirds.
The Kraken and the Firebirds announced yesterday that Jordan Eberle will be loaned to the Coachella Valley Firebirds on a conditioning stint, the next step in his injury recovery, as corraborated by most major sources.

Eberle had to get pelvic surgery back in November that has kept him entirely out of the lineup for months and months now, and this step is a fairly standard one for players coming back from a major surgery like this. He’ll be practicing with the team, playing games with the Firebirds for a couple of weeks (which incidentally is the exact amount of time a conditioning loan in the NHL goes for; 14 days), and then hopefully will be re-evaluated to return to action.
As for the games he could be expected to be seen at; here’s the games ahead for the 4th in Conference Coachella Valley Firebirds:
- vs. San Diego on February 15th at 6pm PST
- vs. Bakersfield on February 16th at 5pm PST
- vs. Tuscon on February 19th at 7pm PST
If they decide to keep him there past the Four Nations tournament, here’s the rest of the games he’d be eligible for:
- vs. Calgary on February 22nd at 6pm PST
- vs. San Jose on February 23rd at 3pm PST
- @ Henderson on February 26th at 7pm PST
Personally? We hope this stint goes well, and that Eberle can finally come back to the Kraken at 100%.
And hey! Firebirds fans get to see both Grubauer and Eberle in action in person! That’s fun, really appreciate that for what it is!
