As a free agent this summer, Vegas Golden Knights center Chandler Stephenson had choices. Yet he called signing with the Seattle Kraken an “easy decision.”
Sure, seven years and $43.75 million helped make the decision easy. Stephenson says another lure was encouragement from Kraken management to “play his game,” rather than trying to be something he isn’t.
Asked his goals for the coming season, Stephenson responded with a single word: “Cup.” Why not? The 30-year-old Saskatoon native already owns two rings, one with the Golden Knights and five years earlier with the Washington Capitals.
