Joining the Seattle Kraken has been known to rejuvenate a career. It happened to Eeli Tolvanen, former 1st round pick later waived by Nashville. It happened to Kaapo Kakko, unloved as a Ranger. And it seems to have happened to Mikey Eyssimont.
Not much was known about Eyssimont when he was delivered at the trade deadline along with draft picks by the Lightning, in exchange for Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand. If Eyssimont was considered a throw-in at the time, he spent his 20 games as a Kraken throwing his weight around. Plus, he scored four goals, one a game-winner.
Eyssimont now waits to see if this audition will earn him a new contract in Seattle. When I asked him for this Kraken Reaction about joining his 4th NHL team, Mikey had nothing but good things to say.
