Dunn: Kraken Must Upgrade Power Play, Penalty Kill

Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn has been to the mountaintop – winning a Stanley Cup in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues. To not even earn an invitation to climb the mountain in 2025 left Dunn in a somber mood.

“It’s not a good feeling, for the second season in a row,” Dunn said to assembled media the day after Seattle’s year ended short of the postseason. “It just sucks to not make the playoffs.” Missing the team goal left Dunn reluctant to review his individual performance. He eventually settled on “decent,” then added, “Decent isn’t good enough. I have more to give.”

Seattle finished the season #23 on the power play, #21 on the penalty kill. In this Kraken Reaction, Dunn explains what the Kraken must do better next year, with special teams play at the top of the list.
